This event is a Clubsport Advanced Event, promoted by the Canterbury Car Club at Mike Pero Motorsport Park, Ruapuna.


The Meeting will be held under these Supplementary Regulations, the MotorSport NZ National Sporting Code and its Appendices and Schedules particularly Appendix Five, Schedule C being the Standing Regulations for all ClubSport Events and Appendix Two, Schedule A – Driver and Vehicle Safety Requirements.

3.1          Dual Car (Pursuit) Sprints, Groups of up to 14 cars.


Each group gets an Indian file (warm up lap) to the Start – Cars flagged away in pairs – Pairs min. 5 seconds apart for 2 or 3 laps – Chequered Flag finish with a cool down lap back to the pits.

Minimum: 2 runs per course – Minimum 3 courses where possible.

One course will consist of “1/4 mile drag racing”. Pairs of cars will line up together and run a timed 400m down the straight.

For wet events, cars may be run singly with the number of cars limited to the number that can be safely run and accurately timed.


Timing by electronic transponder or by manual stopwatch. Cone displacement = 5 seconds and failure to

complete the correct course will result in a DNF (no time).

Best run of each course, accumulated OR all runs accumulated (announced on the day)

To be deemed a finisher and eligible for points 50% of the courses must have a time recorded.


3.2          Classes:

Class 1                 0 – 1300cc

Class 2                  1301 – 1600cc

                Class 3                  1601 – 2000cc

                Class 4                  2001 – 3000cc

                Class 5                  3001 plus cc

3.3          Points:                   CCC Club Championship – overall place counts

CCC Speed Championship – Overall & Class

CCC Classes: 0 -1300, 1301 – 1600, 1601 – 2000, 2001 – 3000 & 3001+cc and

Road-car class.





4.1          Entries must be submitted manually in ‘hard copy’ form. All such entries must be made on the correct form, must be complete in all detail, and accompanied by the appropriate fees.

Organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry in accordance with the prescribed provisions of the National Sporting Code.


4.2          Opening and Closing Dates:

Entries open with the publication of these regulations and close at 10:00am on the competition day.


4.3          Entry Fees:

5.1          Licence Requirements:

All drivers must hold as a minimum an M Grade Competition Licence and current membership with a member club.

Temporary competition licences will not be available on the day.


If the Entrant is other than a driver, an Entrants licence in the name of the Entrant is required.


5.2          Competitor Understanding:

In submitting the entry competitors (Entrant and Drivers) are deemed to fully understand the MotorSport NZ National Sporting Code and its relevant Appendices and Schedules.  In particular:

  • The National Sporting Code Articles pertaining to protests and competitors obligations, and
  • Appendix Five, Schedule C.


5.3          All competitors shall wear safety apparel in compliance with Appendix Two, Schedule A.




6.1          Compliance: All vehicles shall comply with Appendix Five Schedule C and Appendix Two Schedule A of the current MotorSport Manual unless stated otherwise in these supplementary regulations.


Noise: The maximum permitted noise level is 95db(A). Appendix 2 Schedule A, 3.8 Noise levels in the current NZ MotorSport Manual. It is the policy of the Canterbury Car Club Inc through its Raceway Noise Management Plan to Black Flag off the circuit any competition vehicle exceeding this level. These vehicles may not resume competition until such time as repairs are carried out to the satisfaction of the appropriate official. Any further breach of the noise level will result in the competition vehicle being penalised further and excluded from the Meeting.


Road Car Class: You need to specify this in your entry if you wish to compete in this class.

To be eligible car must have a current WOF and current registration. Engine CC is free.

Car must still meet all aspects of Schedule A, of the current NZ Motorsport Manual.

No roll-cage or half cage (unless single seater / open top sports car).

Tyres: For the road car class, a treaded tyre will be accepted in accordance with the current

Motorsport NZ Manual.

Appendix two Schedule A, page 242– NO slicks.

You can NOT enter both road-car class and a race cc class in the same entry.

Car must retain road car appearance, at least 2 front seats, interior trim etc.

A race seat and belts are allowed provided the car still has a warrant and registration.

Decision on what is allowed in this class is final upon chief auditor and/or Clerk of the Course.

A competitor can only run a car in the Road-car Class for a maximum of 2 years or 20 events

whichever comes last and a logbook is required after 5 events to continue to stay in the class. If

the car is replaced then the count reverts to 0 (zero).






7.1          Documentation: Will take place at the race secretaries office from 8:30am to 10:00am


7.2          Scrutineering Audit Inspection: Will take place in pit garages 30&31 from 8:45am to 10:00am

Competitors will be advised at documentation if their vehicle has been selected for audit.


7.3          Drivers’ Briefing: This will be held on the paved area under the control tower commencing at 10:45am. Attendance by all drivers is compulsory – a roll call will be taken and failure to attend will result in a penalty.





8.1          Pursuant to national Sporting Code Article 13, the organisers advise that if less than 15 entries are received by the entry closing date the meeting may be postponed or cancelled.




9.1          Official Bulletins may be issued in accordance with the provisions of the National Sporting Code and will be posted on the notice board outside the race secretaries office.




10.1        Passengers: May only be carried in accordance with Appendix Five, Schedule C Article 6.2.


10.2        Alcohol is not permitted to be consumed by any competitor or their crew at the event before or during the day’s competition.


10.3        Smoking in pits is prohibited (use the designated areas only Club Rooms lawn and the Wigram Room paved area and spectator areas).


10.4        Pit Wall is out of bounds for the entire event – the Casino Lounge and balcony is available for spectating.


10.5        Competitors are required to move off the racing line as soon as they are aware they have mechanical issues or are losing engine fluids.

Competitors must obey the flags at all times.



Results and Social            Club rooms bar to be open and are providing food for all participants.
