Lewis has been President of the Board for over 4 years and supporting the Canterbury Car Club as a member for many years before that.
In his working background, Lewis was involved in the electrical and electronic security industries with various positions including General Manager, Sales Manager, Operations Manager, and Service Manager, with formal training as an Industrial Electrician at PDL Industries with Sir Robertson( Bob ) Stewart.

Blair is a registered electrician by trade, and has specialised in Coffee Machines for the last 17 years.
Together with his wife Vanessa, they own and operate Christchurch Trackdays, building a strong community with thousands of people getting their cars on the race track over the last 12 years and many of them going on to become CCC members and regular competitors.
Blair joined Canterbury Car Club around 2010 when he discovered he could do silly things in cars legally and started competing in Motorkhana, Autocross and Circuit Sprints. Around 2015 he got involved with Race meetings as a CRO and was hooked. Blair gets just as much enjoyment from the volunteer side as he did from competing.
Over the last 10 years Blair has worked his way up to other roles, including Gold Clerk of Course, Steward, Scrutineer and MSNZ Licence Examiner.
Blair has served on the Motorsport NZ Race Advisory Commission for the past 4 years and was invited to join the summer championship race management team 3 years ago and was most recently the Race Director for NZ Formula Ford.
“I believe we have a fantastic club. Through my time in the club I have met so many great people, made friends for life and developed a bunch of skills. I feel really privileged to play a small part in the storied history of Canterbury Car Club, and I’m part of the board because I’m passionate about giving back to a club and sport that has given me so much.”
Lindsay has been a professional sports writer since the early 1980’s, initially as the motorsport reporter for the Christchurch Star when it was a daily paper. Lindsay continues to write for motorsport magazines, along with a local newspaper on rugby and cricket, and since 2011 he has been a judge for the North Canterbury sports awards.
In 2019, Linsday was awarded the QSM (for a 50 year contribution to sport in Canterbury) along with an award from the NZ Sports Journalists Association for contribution to heartland sport. Prior to that, he was awarded a New Zealander of the Year – Local Hero Medal for contribution to sport in Canterbury and received a service award from the Waimakariri District Council.
Lindsay is well known among the Canterbury Car Club (CCC) community for his role as track commentator for all CCC race meetings at Ruapuna, a task that commenced in 2010.
Outside of Motorsport, Lindsay spent 54 years in the general insurance industry, including a nine year stint on the Board of the Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand. He became a Justice of the Peace in 2023 and continues to involve himself with cricket where he is currently president of the Canterbury Country Cricket Association.
David is an experienced business leader and motorsport competitor. He founded VIP Security in 1997, growing it into a successful multi‑branch enterprise before selling in 2020. Over 33 years in the security industry, he served 16 years on the New Zealand Security Association board, including as Deputy Chair and Chair of the Finance Sub‑Committee.
A former non‑commissioned officer with the New Zealand Infantry Regiment territorials, David completed postgraduate studies in Business Administration at the University of Canterbury.
Passionate about motorsport, he has raced a BMW E36 M3 since 2017, winning five Continental Rennsport championships. He has been involved in organising Rennsport since 2020 and joined the Canterbury Car Club board in 2023.
Chris Hyde is the owner & head instructor of V8 Superdrive, located here at Euromarque Motorsport Park. Chris has a wealth of experience as a professional driver over the years with a few titles under his belt which include: NZ Kart champ. RX7 Champ, Formula Ford and Formula 5000 Tasman Champion, along with a lot of other types of racing in NZ and overseas. He loves sharing his love for the sport to others and everyday is an adventure.
Jason has been a member of the Club since the mid 2000s, starting as a club sport competitor and volunteer then serving on many committees before taking up the role of Club Captain in 2016. Over the time spent with the club he has taken up roles in scrutineering and Clerk of the course among others. After competing in club sport events, he started competing in the Club race championship collecting many class titles and an overall championship win, you will still find him competing in everything from club sport to the SKOPE Classic in his trusty Rx7, still the same car he turned up in 20 odd years ago. Outside of the club he has spent the first part of his working life as an automotive electrician and now works for Hyspecs in electrical controls.

The people are fantastic and are passionate about motorsport at all levels. The accessibility the club provides for getting into and staying in motorsport is incredible, something I’m proud of the club for keeping this in focus and something I’m passionate about”
Nigel joined the board in 2025. Nigel has an extensive background in motorsport throughout New Zealand and Australia. He has held a number of management roles within the sport.
David Broderick is a passionate motorsport enthusiast and brings 16 years of local and national governance experience to the Canterbury Car Club, in addition to expertise in property and business.
David is Managing Director of Christchurch based metal fabrication specialist Metalworld Ltd leading a team of over 30 CNC machinist operators and fabricators, and also leads one of New Zealand’s largest and highly respected for-purpose organisations as Chairman of the Board for the Royal New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
In 2017 David helped lead the merger of 42 independent incorporated societies into once single, cohesive national organisation which now has a combined FTE of over 850 paid staff and thousands of volunteers, and annual revenues excessing $84m, and is currently overseeing the delivery of SPCA’s $50m new flagship animal shelter in Auckland. He recently led the review of SPCA’s constitution and move towards transitioning to a charitable trust structure.
With a background in commercial banking, property development and governance expertise specific to for-purpose organisations, David brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Canterbury Car Club.
